Snow Woman

¨*:·.❅.·:*¨*:❄:*¨*:·.❅.·:*¨

A young woman sat quietly on the table. The sunlight from the window was reflected on her fair skin. A simple white ribbon decorated her straight, black hair, matching her simple white dress. She was quietly reading an over-sized parchment-binding.

Pretty lady, lock on!

Smoothly walking over, I lightly greeted her, “are you alone? I’m new in this city, mind giving me a tour?”

She gave me a transient look before going back to her reading.

“You’re reading quite a big book, how studious. What is it on?” I asked her again only to be answered with a page-flip.

“How cold. Don’t worry, I’m not here to bother you. Here, let me buy you a drink to start our amicable relationship.” Before I turned to call the waitress, she looked up at me and smiled. Oh, her smile is even more beautiful!

She then grabbed the wand hidden by her hardback and said, “Burn.”

Never would I imagine the pretty lady’s first word towards me would be a ‘burn’ or that I’d be met with a very, very warm welcome—hot, in fact. I was, more or less, aflame.

Only after did the tavern owner tell me, ‘be careful of the snow woman, she’s a fiery one.’

Author Note: I wanted to expand on this more but couldn’t get the time to. So for now, enjoy this super short short story xD

I Just Wanted To Help!

Translator’s POV

It happened again. The novel I’d been translating recently had around 40 chapters in the queue. I’d been planning on amassing them before mass-editing them but somehow, whenever I uploaded them to the website and proofread them, they were somehow clear of mistakes that I had distinctly remembered making mental notes to adjust later.

Did it just get colder in here? I don’t remember turning on the air-conditioning.

Just Another Adventure

“Raider couldn’t come back yesterday”
“Did we get back the body?”
“Nah, taken by the Yeti to their cave”
I scratched my chin. Getting eaten by yetis isn’t the nicest story to say to the family. There’s no glory in that, just gruesome death, torn apart and eaten alive. “Who’s gonna deliver the news?”
“The boss is going, since he’s a close friend. It should have been Crimson tho.”
“Oh, he came back?”
“Yeah, just him. he’s there holding on to Risa’s staff.”
“First death he’s seen I guess,” shrugging I went to the staff to take my usual quest.

Raider’s death is a pity. She just started settling down and rising up.
“Comes with the job, sadly.”
“Hmm? Yes?” The young staff was surprised by my solemn greeting. “Morning Mr. Brown. The usual boar today?”
“Yeah, just my usual Tuesday.”
“Alright, I’ve registered you for that, please stay safe.”
“Always,” I turned and headed straight to the forest. My steps showing my familiarity with my route.

Just my usual Tuesday.
